Jacket VG / LP NM-
This handsome LP from Westminster (WL 5104, US pressing, red/silver label, mono – no stereo edition exists) features the legendary Vienna Konzerthaus Quartet – Anton Kamper (1st violin), Karl M. Titze (2nd violin), Erich Weiss (viola), and Franz Kwarda (cello) in a truly transcendent account of Beethoven's String Quartet No. 15 in A minor Op. 132, warmly recorded in the Mozartsaal, Vienna, in June 1951
Incidentally, there are insightful liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by Irving Kolodin, printed in English only. The striking cover design is uncredited.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD. There is fraying to the laminate as well as some discoloration, more so to the rear panel. However, the album remains solid, bright, glossy, and highly attractive – overall, this rates as a very good collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Though the surfaces are not perfectly silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT) this is a fine copy and playback is superb. If you must have perfect surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a NM collector's copy.
