This lovely LP from German RCA (LM-1894, German Teldec · Telefunken-Decca pressing, plum/silver label, stereo) features Leopold Stokowski and the NBC Symphony Orchestra in sweeping and gorgeous accounts of Acts II and III from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake Op. 20, richly recorded in the spacious acoustics of New York’s Manhattan Center on 20 October 1954.

The reverse side of the jacket carries extensive liner notes by Louis Biancolli, provided in German only. Though not credited on the jacket, the striking cover photo is by David B. Hecht.
