This beautiful LP Italian Columbia (33 QCX 10208, Italian pressing, blue & silver label, 'microsolco' label, mono) features Volume VIII of Walter Gieseking's legendary traversal of Mozart's complete music for piano solo.  Gieseking recorded the oeuvre entirely at EMI's Studio No. 3, Abbey Road, London during 1-20 August 1953, 31 March 1954, and 10 August 1954, in sessions produced by Walter Legge, Walter Jellinek, and Geraint Jones, with engineer Christopher Parker. The contents of this particular volume are as follows:

Piano Sonata No. 5 in G Major K. 283

Piano Sonata No. 17 in D Major K. 576

9 Variations in C Major after Dezede's 'Lison dormait' K. 264

10 Variations in G Major after Gluck's 'Unser dummer Pobel' K. 455

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is minor edgewear and discoloration, as well as slight laminate lift and some discoloration. However, there are no seampslits, bends, or owners' markings and the jacket remains extremely solid, bright, and glossy – overall, an excellent collector's copy.

The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. The surfaces are not always CD silent, but in general the playback is superb – overall, an excellent collector's copy.
