Dixon/Cologne RSO: Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6 "Pathetique" - Orbis 21501
$8.00 USD
Jacket EX / LP EX / German pressing
This handsome LP from Orbis (21501, German pressing, black/silver label, mono) features conductor Dean Dixon and the Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra's stirring account of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 in B minor Op. 74 "Pathetique", first issued on LP in 1964.
There is scandalously little Dixon on compact disc; a great pity, as he is an artist whose very interesting discography deserves systematic re-issue on CD and renewed appreciation by collectors young and old.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is slight bumping/wear at corners, as well as some mild discoloration, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners' markings, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, and presentation worthy – overall, an excellent collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT++. The surfaces are not always CD silent, but in general the playback is really superb – overall, an excellent collector's copy.
