Wrote the erudite authors of The Penguin Guide in their 2003/4 edition:

Rubinstein's readings of the two finest Sonatas are unsurpassed, with a poetic impulse that springs directly from the music and a control of rubato to bring many moments of magic... [T]he addition of the Barcarolle and Berceuse make this reissue all the more desirable."

There are informative liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket in German (by Dr. Diether Presser) and in English (by James Lyons). The striking cover photo of Rubinstein is uncredited.

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD. There is wear at corners, light creasing, and mild shelfwear, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, bends, or owners' markings and the jacket remains perfectly solid, bright, glossy, and highly attractive in appearance – overall, a very good collector's copy.

The condition of the LP is near-MINT and playback is superb – overall, a truly fine collector's copy.
