Jacket EX / LP VG / Russian pressing

This handsome LP from Mezhdunarodnaya Kniga · MK (D 011599-11600(a), Russian pressing, blue/silver label, mono) features conductor Gennady Rozhdestvensky and the Symphony Orchestra and Choir of the Moscow Radio in a richly evocative account of Maurice Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloe (complete ballet), recorded in 1968 or possibly 1973.

Rozhdestvensky’s recorded output, not unlike Svetlanov’s, rival’s Ormandy’s in size, and thus seems somewhat suspect to some collectors. Really, however, his vast discography boasts numerous fine performances, of which this is certainly one.

In lieu of liner notes, the reverse side of the jacket carries a listing of other MK titles.

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is a slight bend to the lower-left corner, as well as a small bit of writing to the rear panel, but that is all. There are no seamsplits or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, and attractive – an excellent collector’s copy.

The condition of the LP itself is VERY GOOD. Though there is light surface noise throughout, in general the playback remains enjoyable. However, those wanting a flawless, NM, or EX copy are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as a very good collector's copy.
