Ringeissen: Etudes for Piano by Czerny, Moscheles, Pierne, Moszkowski, et al. - German SMC 95048
Jacket NM / LP EX / German pressing
This lovely and rare LP from German Columbia (SMC 95048, German pressing, white/gold label – ED1, stereo) features the young Bernard Ringeissen in a fascinating recital devoted to the art of the etude, an album regarded on the heels of his 2nd place finish (a prize shared with Dmitri Bashkirov) at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition held in Paris in 1955 (no 1st prize was awarded that year).
This recital was originally recorded and released by Erato (STE 60035), though this German Columbia issue arguably remains its finest pressing, an album recorded in the late 1950s.
Ringeissen’s exact program is as follows:

There are insightful liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, printed in German only. The lovely cover art is similarly uncredited.
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is near-MINT. There is slight wear at corners, but really that is all. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners’ markings, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, glossy, and highly attractive – overall, an outstanding collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Though there is occasional light surface noise, in general playback is superb, close to NM. However, those wanting a flawless or near-MINT copy are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy.
