Jacket VG / LP NM (Japanese pressing)
This handsome LP from CBS/Sony Japan (13AC 126, Japanese pressing, white label, stereo, no Obi) features conductor Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra in a resplendent album of that great Respighi triptych: The Fountains of Rome, The Pines of Rome, and Feste Romane.
The exact discographic details are as follows, all works by Ottorino Respighi:
The Fountains of Rome
(rec. at Town Hall, Philadelphia, on 27 February 1968)
The Pines of Rome
(rec. at Town Hall, Philadelphia, on 6 March 1968)
(rec. at Town Hall, Philadelphia, on 20 November 1960)
Please note: All titles are in English, but all other texts, including the liner notes, are in Japanese only.
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD. There is corner wear and discoloration to the rear panel. However, there are no seamsplits, bends, owners’ markings, or other defects, and the whole remains solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall, a very good collector’s copy.
The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Though surfaces are not perfectly silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT), this is a fine copy and playback is superb. However, if you must have perfect surfaces, then please do not buy this LP – this is a lovely collector's copy.
