Menuhin/Pritchard: Mozart Violin Concerti Nos. 4 & 5 (rec. 1954) - Electrola E 90 112
Jacket GOOD / LP VG / German pressing
This handsome gatefold LP from German Electrola (WALP 1281 / E 90112, German pressing, red label, mono) features Yehudi Menuhin's beautifully pointed accounts of Mozart's Violin Concertos No. 4 in D Major K. 218 and No. 5 in A Major K. 219 'Turkish', both recorded in June 1954 with Sir John Pritchard and the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Both works were staples of Menuhin's repertoire and though there exist many duplicate versions in his vast discography, his partnership with Pritchard was an inspired one, and his playing has seldom sounded so utterly natural and winsome – a wonderful disc.
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is GOOD. There is edgewear, creasing, and some minor bends to the upper-right corner. In addition, the interior in-bound sleeve is chipped. However, the album is free of seamsplits, owners' markings, or other serious defects and remains solid and presentation worthy – still a good copy.
The condition of the LP itself is VERY GOOD. There are a few soft tics, but nothing to detract from true listening pleasure – again, still a good copy.
