This superb LP – a beautiful collector's copy with a near perfect jacket – from Capitol (P 8446, US pressing, rainbow label, mono) entitled "Portraits in Sound" features conductor Erich Leinsdorf and the Concert Arts Symphony Orchestra in brilliant, sumptuous performances of 4 orchestral showpieces, brought with tremendous panache and elan.

Chabrier: España

Dukas: The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Rimsky-Korsakov: Russian Easter Fesitval Overture Op. 36

All four works were recorded in demonstration quality sound at Stage 7, Goldwyn Studios, Hollywood, CA in March 1958.

There are insightful liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, provided in English only. The memorable cover photo of Leinsdorf is similarly uncredited, alas.
