Le Trinome (Lee, Bex, Gendre): Beethoven "Ghost Trio", etc. - BAM LD 058
Jacket EX / LP VG / French pressing
This beautiful and rare LP from La Boîte à Musique · BAM (LD 058, French pressing, white / red script label, mono, front laminated jacket) features "Le Trinome" – comprised of pianist Noël Lee, cellist Robert Bex, and violinist Robert Gendre – in supremely eloquent accounts of Beethoven's Piano Trios No. 5 in D Major Op. 70 No. 1 and No. 6 in E-flat Major Op. 70 No. 2 "Ghost", made in the mid-1950s at the Studio Magellan, Paris (producer: Rosenwald).
Incidentally, the striking cover design was executed by Planet, Paris. On the reverse side of the jacket are printed excellent liner notes – in French only – by Jean Hamon of l'Academie du Disque Français.
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the front laminated jacket is EXCELLENT. There is a minor bend to the lower-right corner, slight bumping at all four corners, mild shelfwear, and a former owner's name penned to the rear panel, but that is all. There are no seamsplits or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, glossy, and presentation worthy – overall, still a decent copy.
The condition of the LP is VERY GOOD. Though the surfaces are not CD silent, in general the playback is excellent. However, those requiring CD silent surfaces are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as a very good collector's copy.
