Heifetz Encores: 14 Violin Encores (Schubert, Debussy, Kroll, et al.) - RCA LSC-3233(e)
Jacket VG- / LP EX / US pressing
This handsome LP from RCA (LSC-3233(e), US pressing, Red Seal / white dog label, mono) features one of the great violin bon-bon albums: 'Heifetz Encores' Vol. 1. Many of these arrangements, at turns charming and brilliant, were made by Heifetz himself. He is partnered throughout by either Brooks Smith* or Emanuel Bay, splendid pianists both. This album was produced by John Pfeiffer and engineered by Edwin Begley.
Incidentally, the wonderful cover art reproduces Al Hirschfeld's inimitable drawing of Heifetz.

There is tremendous personality and imagination behind the playing, with Heifetz on his most dazzling, and smiling, form. An essential part of any violin collection – wonderful!
Incidentally, the memorable drawing of Heifetz gracing the front panel was made by the inimitable Al Hirschfeld. There are fine liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, printed in English only.
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD. There is a small sticker tear to the lower-left corner, as well as slight bumping/wear at corners, and a small bit of rippling to the rear panel. However, there are no seamsplits, bends, or owners' markings, and the album remains very solid, bright, and attractive in appearance – overall, a very good collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Although the surfaces are not absolutely silent, this is a fine copy and the playback is quite superb. Those requiring flawless or NM surfaces are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy.
