Jacket VG+ / LP EX / French pressing
This lovely LP from Erato (LDE 3382, French pressing, green/white label, mono) features the splendid pianist Frederick Marvin in magical performances of 7 Piano Sonatas by Padre Antonio Soler, recorded at the Studio Hoche, Paris, on 23 July 1965 (proucer: Guy Laporte).
The exact contents are as follows:
Piano Sonata in D-flat Major M. 44
Piano Sonata in G Major M. 48
Piano Sonata in C Major M. 42
Piano Sonata in F minor M. 27
Piano Sonata in C minor M. 43
Piano Sonata in B-flat Major M. 45
Piano Sonata in D minor M. 28
Incidentally, the striking cover art reproduces a detail from Goya’s “Les vendages”. There are excellent liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, printed in French only.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD+. There is light edgewear and faint ringwear, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners' markings, or other defects and the album remains solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall a very good collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Although the surfaces are not absolutely silent, really this is a fine copy and the playback is enjoyable. Those requiring a flawless or near-MINT copy are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this is an excellent collector's copy.
