Cluytens: Rimsky-Korsakov, Borodin, Mussorgsky orchestral works - Pathé 33 DTX 116
Jacket VG / LP VG / French pressing
This beautiful LP from Pathé (33 DTX 116, French Pathe-Marconi pressing, green/silver label, mono) features a brilliant all-Russian program under the charismatic directorship of conductor André Cluytens. Recorded at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and the Salle Wagram, Paris with l'Orchestre de la Société des Concerts du Conservatoire, these performances are brought off with tremendous flair, color, and panache.
Included are the following works:
Rimsky-Korsakov: Russian Easter Festival Overture Op. 36
Mussorgsky: Night on Bare Mountain
Rimsky-Korsakov: Capriccio Espagnol Op. 34
Borodin: In the Steppes of Central Asia
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD. There is bumping/wear at corners, as well as a minor scuff to the lower-front panel and some instances of creasing. However, there are no seamsplits, owners' markings, or other defects and the whole remains solid, bright and very colorful – a very good collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is VERY GOOD. The surfaces are not CD silent (there is occasional Iight surface noise, but in general the playback is superb – overall, a very good collector's copy.
