This handsome LP from RCA Victrola (VICS-1139, US pressing, plum/silver label – ED1, 1S/1S stampers, stereo) features Sir Adrian Boult and the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s stirring account of Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 2 in E minor Op. 27, made in 1965, an under-rated performance kept at a slow-burn, yet built with cumulative power and with a true slavic ardor.

There are excellent liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, printed in English only. The striking cover art is similarly uncredited.
