Backhaus plays with both aplomb and grace, his virtuoso technique melded with beautiful gradations of tone.
There are insightful liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by E.C. Stone and Dyneley Hussey – all texts in English only. The striking cover photo and design on the front panel are uncredited.
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is near-MINT. There are no flaws to speak of and the album appears virtually as new. Indeed, I should like to see a finer copy anywhere – overall, an extraordinarily fine collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Though surfaces are not perfectly silent, really this a fine copy and playback is quite superb. However, if you must have a flawless or NM surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy.
