Jacket EX / LP NM / German pressing

This handsome LP from Deutsche Grammophon (2531 004, German pressing, white circle label, stereo) features landmark recordings of 20th Century master Luigi Nono, played here by some of the composer's finest exponents, including legendary pianist Maurizio Pollini.

The exact contents are as follows:

….sofferte onde serene…. (1976) for piano and magnetic tape

> with pianist Maurizio Pollini

(rec. at the Herkulessaal, Munich, on 17 September 1977 – producer: Rainer Brock / recording engineer: Klaus Hiemann)

a floresta è jovem a cheja de vida (1965/1966) for soprano, voices, clarinet, copper plates, and magnetic tape – based on texts and sources compiled by Giovanni Pirelli

> with soprano Liliana Poli, the voices of Kadigia Bove, Elena Vicini, Berto Troni, and clarinetist William O. Smith; copper plate players directed by pianist Bruno Canino

(rec. at the RAI Studio di Fonologia in Milan in 1977 – sound director: Luigi Nono / recording engineer: Marino Zuccheri)

Incidentally, the cover photo of Luigi Non was taken by Annette Lederer, Hamburg. Included is a 4-page, full-size booklet with notes on the music by the composer, additional notes by Luigi Pestalozza, and complete vocal texts – all provided in Italian, German, English, and French.

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is minor bumping/wear at corners, but really that is all. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners' markings, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, glossy, and very striking in appearance – overall, a lovely collector's copy.

The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Although surfaces are not absolutely silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT), really this is a very fine copy and playback is truly superb. However, if you must have absolutely perfect surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a very fine collector's copy.
