Grandjany/Hollywood Quartet: Ravel, Debussy, Grandjany - Capitol P 8492
$15.00 USD
Jacket NM / LP EX
This excellent LP – a beautiful collector's copy – from Capitol Records (P8492, US pressing, rainbow label / Capitol FDS label at 9 o'clock, mono) features the great Marcel Grandjany in a dazzling series of works for, or that include a prominent part for, harp. He is accompanied in one piece by the incomparable Hollywood String Quartet (and contributing soloists Arthur Cleghorn, flute, and Hugo Raimondi, clarinet), and in another by the estimable Concert Arts String Orchestra. These remain among the most magical harp performances ever captured on record, preserved in wonderfully atmospheric sound – really, this is all quite stunning.
The Hollywood String Quartet was comprised of Felix Slatkin (1st Violin), Paul Shure (2nd Violin), Alan Dinkin (Viola), and Eleanor Slatkin (Cello).
Included are the following works:
Ravel: Introduction and Allegro, for Harp, Flute, Clarinet, and String Quartet
