This fascinating LP from EMI · Trianon (045-00887, French pressing, pink lyre label, mono) preserves magical historical performances by legendary violinist Jacques Thibaud, electrical recordings made during the years 1927 – 1936, that remain quite rare in any pressing. This latter Trianon issue offers the undeniable advantage of smoother sound with no loss in atmosphere, the fine transfers well capturing Thibaud's distinctive tone.
